Every grant tells a story.

At WolfPups on Wheels, we exist to help children with disabilities access the equipment and therapies they need to move, communicate, and participate more fully in everyday life. Behind every adaptive bike, therapy intensive, brace, or communication device is a child with a unique personality, big dreams, and a family doing everything they can to support them.

Our grant recipients are the heart of our mission. These families trusted us with their stories, and because of generous donors, we’ve been able to help meet real, tangible need, prioritizing essential mobility, therapeutic support, and tools that foster independence.

  • “Benjamin is 8 years old and was diagnosed with arthrogryposis in utero, which is a genetic condition that affects muscles, joint and ligaments. He has had many surgeries in the past couple of years to straighten out his back and legs. During that time he has worked so hard to keep his body strong and moving. He has gone through so much in his little life and one of the things he has wanted most is a bike so that he can be like his 4 other brothers. Thanks to WolfPups and his sponser Valerie of DripNeedle, Benjamin has been cruising along all summer. I’m so grateful for the chance that he has been giving to keep moving and feel included..”

  • “He spent the first 313 days of his life in the hospital — three different hospitals, fighting for a chance at the life he has now. Jace was born with a Congenital Heart Defect. At two and a half months old he went into cardiac arrest for an hour. His care team placed him on ECMO life support for ten days to give his heart and body time to recover. The extended time without oxygen left him with ongoing diagnoses including HIE, cerebral palsy, chronic lung disease, and epilepsy. He is fully dependent on his family for his care. Jace's mobility chair was increasing his muscle tone and doesn't sit properly against his body or his feeding tube. It was so uncomfortable that his family sometimes has to take him out and carry him. When that happens he loses access to his eye gaze communication device and his family has to stay close to the chair because his life-saving medical equipment is attached to it. Wolf Pups on Wheels provided Jace with a grant toward a medical stroller that fits his body, supports his comfort, and keeps him in the middle of everything.”

  • “Evan is seven years old, a twin, a first grader, and one of the most fun-loving kids you will ever meet. He loves music, everything from Jason Aldean to 311. He plays Madden, watches hockey and football with his brother and dad, and has a passion for game show hosts that is completely his own. Evan has Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair full time. His chair gets him where he needs to go until the ground isn't flat. Grass. Gravel. Brick sidewalks. Uneven trails. These are the surfaces that keep Evan in the car while his family goes ahead without him. Wolfpups on Wheels provided Evan with a grant toward an Axiom Improv push chair — a mobility chair designed specifically for the terrain his current chair cannot handle.”

  • "Asher is a sweet 3 year old boy who is always up to something! Asher was born at 30 weeks and faces a number of diagnoses that affect his mobility and development. He works hard in therapy and fights for every gain. He also lives 2 hours away from the nearest quality clinic and his family makes that drive regularly but continues the work at home. Through the generosity of our Wolfpack, we were able to purchase Asher a medical grade vibration plate to use at home every day. For his with his needs, whole body vibration helps to reduce muscle spasticity so therapy is more effective, builds functional strength without high impact load, supports bone density and improve circulation."

  • "Madeline was born at 39 weeks — a full term, uncomplicated delivery. By ten months old, an MRI revealed two brain injuries. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy secondary to Periventricular Leukomalacia and Polymicrogyria. Madeline is five years old now. She sees over ten specialists regularly and attends physical, occupational, and speech therapy twice a week. She uses a wheelchair, activity chair, stander, gait trainer, AFOs, hearing aids, glasses, hand and thumb braces, and receives all of her nutrition through a G-tube. She is learning to communicate through an eye gaze AAC device. This year Wolf Pups on Wheels provided Madeline with an intensive therapy grant so she can do it again — this time with a traveling physical therapist coming directly to her hometown, so every dollar goes straight to her care."

  • "Charlie is 3 years old and loves the park and the beach. She has spastic Cerebral Palsy and her weeks are filled with therapy and specialist appointments. Charlie is able to prop sit for about 2 minutes before fatigue sets in. This fall she starts pre-K and her families' goal for her is simple and profound— to be able to sit with her peers for circle time. Charlie will be spending a few weeks at Intensive Therapy this summer to build up the strength and stamina to tackle pre-K!"

  • "Ryan received his bike and is LOVING it, thanks to Wolf Pups!   We really appreciate the grant. This bike has already made such a difference.  I’ve seen Ryan’s confidence increase and he wants to go outside more. I have a feeling we will be outside all day in the summer. "

  • "I wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for the chair you so generously donated to our family at no cost. This gift has truly meant more to us than words can express. Because of this chair, Liam is able to sit safely, comfortably, and engage with his surroundings in ways that weren’t always possible before. It has opened up new opportunities for him to interact, play, and simply be a part of everyday moments — especially with his little brother, Lucas. Seeing them play together and share those moments is incredibly special to us, and something we will always be thankful for. "

  • "Tyler  relies on an AAC device. Through it, he tells his parents when he wants a snack, when he needs some quiet time, or when he’s ready to play. For his family, hearing Tyler “speak” through his device opened up a beautiful new way to connect with him — a window into his personality, humor, and heart. For the past two years, Tyler attended public school. But recently, his parents made the difficult decision to move him to a smaller private school that could better meet his unique needs and keep him safe. Unfortunately, when Tyler left the public school system, he also lost access to his district-provided AAC device — the very thing that gave him his voice. Tyler now has access to his own AAC device again — his voice, his connection, his joy. After such a difficult year, this gift has meant the world to his family."

  • "Elle is really doing great, the funds supported 10 sessions of OT and she is just thriving, insurance covered a device to help her with communication and it has been incorporated into her sessions.  Elle is such a happy little girl who loves to dance and go to school :) The grant was seriously so incredibly helpful to my family and our little girl. "
